Fasting can affect the benefits of some vitamins, supplements and medications. For best absorption, some supplements are meant to be taken only with water, and others with food. If taking supplements on an empty stomach doesn't work for you, try taking it with your Bulletproof Coffee, or when you break your fast.
A true water fast is water only. Drinking anything else muddles the water (no pun intended). The argument is whether having plain black coffee with nothing else in it breaks your fast or not.
