On August 26, 2020 the Alaska Police Standards Council adopted, as an emergency regulation, changes in 13 AAC 85.010, 13 AAC 85.210, 13 AAC 85.215 and 13 AAC 89.010 of the Alaska Administrative Code dealing with the inclusion of United States Nationals in officer's eligibility standards, including the following:
Acceptable Dress Standards: For all officers, jailers and civilians who attend training classes shall be: Agency Uniform: Always accepted Acceptable Civilian (non-uniform) Attire: Male Attendees: Shall wear dress shirts, sport shirts or polo-type shirts with dress or casual slacks, which would be appropriate for a business environment.
12.2.1 This regulation sets forth the minimum qualification standards for concealed weapon handguns for active duty police officers and for retired law enforcement officers who qualify under the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004 (H.R. 218).
